Motorola Xoom first hands-on! (update: video!): "

Look what we found hanging around the Motorola stand at CES this evening: none other than the just announced Motorola Xoom tablet. While this sleek little device is still running a very early build of Honeycomb, we were able to sneak some peeks at the stuff Google and Motorola don't actually want you to see just yet. The device was looping demo videos of the Honeycomb UI, but a little investigation on our part revealed a bare bones homescreen. We're still trying to decipher just what we saw, but for now check out the first hands-on images in the gallery below.

Update: We went back to do a little more investigation, and this thing is most definitely running Honeycomb. We were able to bring up the app pane, and saw the full suite of Google apps within. We also caught a new app switcher, which is invoked by hitting a little icon that resembles a deck of cards. Check out the UI shots in the second gallery.

Update 2: Now with video after the break!

Samsung Infuse 4G for AT&T eyes-on (Update: video)

Samsung Infuse 4G for AT&T eyes-on (Update: video): "

We were checking out the Samsung booth at the Digital Experience event at CES when, lo and behold, we stumbled upon the Samsung Infuse 4G for AT&T in all its gigantic 4.5-inch Super Amoled Plus display glory. There was only one catch: we weren't permitted to touch it, nor take shots of the back of the phone. So we compiled a few pictures of the front and sides of the 9 mm thin device below, including a size comparison with the iPhone 4.

Tesla Model S is bundled up at CES, we unwrap it (video)

We'll get this out of the way up front: no, we didn't get to drive it. In fact we didn't even get to sit in its creamy white seats, a tragedy that we're still a little sensitive about. But we did get to open the door of the Tesla Model S, testing out the trick powered door handles that motor themselves out after a touch and then, when the door is closed, zip back flush to the sheet metal. It's a nice detail, one that we think would probably lose its ability to inspire wonder after about a week. But, for now, it's cool. Check out a video of that and other details below.

Sleek by 50 Cent Platinum headphones announced, invites Beats to a showdown

Sleek by 50 Cent Platinum headphones announced, invites Beats to a showdown: "

It's official. The cans we saw teased earlier in the week have just been made official by Sleek Audio and Curtis Jackson (otherwise known to the world as 50 Cent), with the rapper himself dishing out cash and input to make it happen. We're told that they were designed by 50 and engineered by Sleek, and are the first headphones ever to offer 'Wireless Hybrid' technology with military-grade metals. More specifically, the Sleek by 50 Cent Platinum headphones utilize Kleer lossless wireless technology, with a 60 foot range and a micro-USB rechargeable battery. If you run out of juice, there's a detachable mic cable that can be jacked in for continued listening. The cans themselves house a pair of 50mm dynamic drivers, a customized internal amplifier and a call-out to Dr. Dre. Just kidding. Maybe. We're still waiting on a price and release date, but we'd expect 'em to ship soon for just a touch more than HP's Beats -- you know, given the wireless and all.

[NEWS] Be sure to Check out Russell SImmons latest book "Super Rich: A Guide to Having It All {Jan 4, 2011}"

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons will drop his second inspirational book tomorrow (January 4th), titled Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All.

Russell Simmons' latest book blends his spirituality with his business acumen in Super Rich, which Simmons hope will inspire and motivate young readers and older ones alike, to a higher plateau in life.

In Super Rich, the business-minded mogul shares personal stories, real life examples, proven philosophies and the Yogic principles that Simmons strictly adheres to.

Simmons' hardcover book Super Rich follows his 2007 New York Times' Bestseller Do You!

"The first book Do You! came with a good advance which I gave to charity," Russell Simmons explained to AllHipHop.com. "It was kind of a selfish motivation to pull all the study together. But when Oprah called and promoted it.. so many people said it 'changed their life.'"

Simmons said the feedback from so many readers motivated him to write Super Rich without an agenda to promote.

According to Simmons, who co-founded the Def Jam label in addition to the Phat Farm clothing line, he delves deeper into the secrets that helped him obtain a net worth of over $300 million dollars.

"I wrote this simple guide with a more selfless motivation, as an offering," Russell Simmons told AllHipHop.com. "I hope it promotes prosperity and well being for whoever reads it"

Russell Simmons' latest book Super Rich: A Guide to Having It All with Chris Morrow, lands in stores nationwide tomorrow (January 4th) via Gotham Books.
